FORBIDDEN FRUITS - A SPOTIFY ORIGINAL PODCAST
Forbidden Fruits features no holds barred cultural commentary by Julia Fox and her co-host Niki Takesh, two influential, opinionated, and transgressive women with a keen understanding of the current intersection of pop culture, sex, and stigma. Through the course of the series, they will be treating taboo content and electrifying, culturally relevant guests with empathy and understanding in order to gain deeper insight into the controversial topics and figures featured.

Responsibilities:
- Write outlines/scripts.
- Research and book guests - negotiate fees and transportation when needed.
- Direct and record talent - in the studio, on Riverside.fm, and in the field.
- Oversee editing and mixing - uphold creative and journalistic integrity of the show.
- Upload episodes and write descriptions.
- Create weekly social media assets such as teasers.
The premise of the show is to interview controversial people and cover stories that have caused a stir. This involved booking guests that have gone AWOL, guests that were in jail, and guests that had to remain anonymous. Here are some episodes that stand out:
#1: Interviewing Jane Doe 15, a Jeffrey Epstein survivor.
#2: Interviewing Zola, the author of 148 tweets that inspired a film.
#3: Interviewing Anna Delvey, the fake German heiress.
Recording and editing Forbidden Fruits was done in Protools. The further production of the show relied largely on platforms such as Riverside.fm, Frame.io, and Megaphone. The screenshots below will show you part of the editing process on Frame.io.
To build our following on social media, I created a weekly teaser of every episode. This asset was created using Protools, Photoshop, and After Effects. I created a template for the audio as well as the visuals so that audio from the episodes could easily be inserted and background images could be swapped. The result was a consistent and recognizable aesthetic as shown below. Consistently and strategically posting this (and other) content grew the page by 10k followers within 6 months.
